As the twelfth of thirteen children in my family, the aunt to over 40 nieces and nephews, and a great-aunt to over 60, I have to be open for whatever adventures cross my path. Growing up in a big family and being there for each other, it always felt right to look for the positive. Kind of like being in the hotel business.

My mom had the biggest impact on my life. She always helped me be a better person. Many times, I would ask myself, “What would Mom do?” And today, my children, Sarah and Bennett, and my husband, Rod, are three of my biggest cheerleaders.

I love being part of Maine Course, and especially love greeting guests with a smile.

My purpose in life is quite simple—to be kind and to help other people. I’ve been blessed, and I want to give of myself to those around me. My daughters have had the biggest impact on my life. As a single Dad, watching them grow up to be great adults has made me very proud.

It was hard after working for the same hotel for over thirty years and having new owners take over (MCHG). But right from the start, I felt welcomed. And they were actually really nice to work with. I wouldn’t change a thing.

OK, I gotta go. Time to ride my bike and visit my granddaughter.

I am from Ireland, and enjoy living in Maine and being a part of Maine Course. I worked for Marriott for 25 years before retiring, and I am happily continuing my passion for hospitality here in Portland, ME. It’s important to me to be a part of a team and to provide excellent service to our guests. After all, happy guests equal a happy team! I appreciate Maine Course for giving me this opportunity to continue my passion.  In my spare time I enjoy my five grandchildren, listening to music and traveling.

I became a part of an extraordinary team in 2011 when I started working with Maine Course Hospitality Group. I began as a line cook and quickly became trained in other areas of the hotel. Maine Course has helped me learn many aspects of hotel operations, and I feel valued as a member of the team. I believe it is important to help people every day in an honest way. If you treat others well, they will do the same for you. I found this to be true here at Maine Course.
