Courtyard Portland Downtown Waterfront opens for business

Portland, ME May 21, 2014 –The Courtyard by Marriott in the Old Port opened its doors today culminating in a historic, yet trendy hotel on Commercial Street. The land, purchased in 1845 and passed down over generations, brings completion to the revitalization of the Old Port on the South side.

Courtyard by Marriott is one of the world’s leading hotel brands and is aimed at business travelers. This hotel showcases the newest design elements and is one of the first Courtyards with the new prototype aimed at exciting younger business travelers and families. The Courtyard Bistro serves Starbucks all day as well as breakfast, dinner and drinks. Phil Borkowski, Vice President of the Courtyard brand suggests; “The Old Port is a perfect location to help launch the exciting new Courtyard design. This downtown hotel features three meeting rooms, a state of the art fitness room, valet parking and indoor pool. Many rooms offer views of Portland Harbor. Director of Sales named for Portland Courtyard

Portland, Maine February 19, 2014 — Sean Riley, President & CEO for Maine Course Hospitality Group, announces the appointment of Bruno Inacio as Director of Sales for the Courtyard by Marriott. Inacio brings to the Courtyard a wide range of sales and leadership success from around the globe.

Most recently Bruno was the Chief Financial Officer of Omni Training Solutions in San Antonio, Texas. His background includes airlines, restaurant, hotels and the United States Military. Aaron Marks, General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott, in Portland, Maine says, “Bruno brings a wealth of sales and leadership experience to our hotel. His European upbringing and knowledge of three languages will be a great asset as Portland has become a must see destination for international travelers. The new Courtyard by Marriott, with its 131 rooms, is expected to open late spring 2014. Portland, Maine February 12, 2014 — Sean Riley, President & CEO, Maine Course Hospitality Group, announces the appointment of Aaron Marks as General Manager for the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Portland, Maine. Most recently, Aaron was with Marriott Corporation on the opening and training team for new hotels. His Marriott career has included various leadership positions in the Courtyard brand as well as Marriott Vacation Clubs. Aaron’s successful leadership allowed him to be one of the key leaders in opening some of Marriott’s most high profile properties. Riley explains, “Aaron was chosen not only because of his extensive Marriott experience but also his ability to lead others. I’m most excited about the team he is building and the level of hospitality it will provide to our guests in Portland.”

Bangor TownePlace Suites Ground Breaking

Bangor, ME. September 19, 2013 Maine Course Hospitality Group and its investors began construction on the TownePlace Suites by Marriott on Sylvan Road in Bangor, Me. The 82-suite hotel is expected to open during the summer of 2013. The location will compliment the existing Courtyard by Marriott next door and is Bangor’s only extended stay hotel. The hotel provides functional space for living and working, helping guests keep their routine and settle into the neighborhood.

This all-suite hotel features studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, with kitchens. An indoor pool & fitness room, free breakfast, business center and meeting room add to the appeal of this extended stay hotel. There will be an “Inn a Pinch” market where guests can purchase snacks & sundries. Because of its location just off I95 and near Eastern Maine Medical Center and multiple colleges, this hotel provides conveniences along with the comforts of home.
