Prior to joining MCHG, Gary worked for Ground Round Inc. in restaurant operations as well as rising in the ranks from Director of Taxes and Financial Reporting to Corporate Controller to Vice President. He is a CPA and previously held senior accounting positions.
Gary has a BSBA in Accounting and an MS in Taxation. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He has established a self-insured group health plan for MCHG and serves on the Maine Merchants Association Workers’ Compensation Trust committee.
In addition to his responsibilities at MCHG, Gary is Vice President & CFO of Ground Round IOC and oversees all financial aspects of the $100 million restaurant company. He assisted in the development of the Comfort Suites and became GM in 1999. In 2002, another hotel was added to his responsibilities and in 2004, three more. He was named Director of Hotel Operations in 2004 with responsibilities including site selection, hotel development & acquisition, and hotel operations & renovations. He has been an integral part of the acquisition & development of over $75 million in hotel projects for MCHG. In 2007, Sean was named Chief Operating Officer overseeing all aspects of operations for the Hotel & Restaurant divisions as well as the Development group. His career in the Hospitality business began in 1982.
Sean has a BS in Education and is a former high school teacher. He has been on the boards of the Maine Innkeepers Association (Past President), Freeport Merchants Association (Past President), and Maine Tourism Association. Maine’s Congressman selected Sean to represent Maine at the White House Conference on Tourism and the Innkeepers Association named him Innkeeper of the Year in 1995. She is a graduate of University of Southern Maine with a BS in Accounting and she is a Certified Public Accountant. Her current role includes managing the accounting office, assisting with system development, assuring accurate profit and loss statements, handling the accounts of multiple MCHG locations and assisting the CFO. Prior to joining MCHG, Beth was an accountant with Macdonald Page, LLC, a public accounting firm based in Maine. She graduated with a dual BS in Business Management and Occupational Safety & Health Management from Keene State College in New Hampshire.
She has worked in Insurance & Benefit Management in companies such as Iworx, Inc. & Greater New York Mutual Insurance Companies. In addition to her role in administration, she also spends time training employees in areas such as Sexual Harassment. She also deals with employee relations and produces the company newsletter. She values her title of “Director of Fun Stuff” the most. He rose through the ranks to become GM of the Comfort Suites and opened MCHG’s first Marriott property in 2004.
In addition to his current role as a general manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites, he serves as the company's IT Counselor. He has installed hotel Property Management Systems and restaurant Point of Sale systems at many locations. He advises the entire company on hardware and software purchases and installations.
